Persian rugs from the name itself, originated from Persia, what is now called Iran. This part of the world is one of the sites of the earliest civilizations, and rug-making is an occupation that goes way back to man’s pre-modern days.

Persian rugs in the early days were made from sheep substance, wool and spun. Silk was also utilized early on, and is in fact, being used until this day.

Making Persian rugs by knotting or weaving are two methods to produce this kind of rug. The authentic ones are made from wool or silk only, but many of the factories this day make use of synthetic materials such as nylon.

The reputation of Persian rugs as high-quality rugs has not been tainted even after all these years. Owning one can denote status symbol, but more significantly, it’s a good investment for a real piece of timeless beauty.
