It’s important not to have the rug clash with the modern or look out of place. One option is to create a localized theme of decor within the vicinity of the rug, perhaps using it to define a quite reading area, or a space with a coffee table and comfortable chairs. The mix of furnishings should be varied in color, as the rug itself will likely display a whole spectrum of hues. Dark wood and leather often form an excellent partnership with such a rug.
